Diego Costa and Eden Hazard are fit and available for selection for Chelsea in Sunday's derby against Arsenal.
Costa
is expected to lead the line for the fallen champions but interim
manager Guus Hiddink will decide over the weekend whether to start with
Hazard or name him on the bench.
'He
has been well-prepared by the physio until two days ago when he started
to participate with the team,' said Hiddink, when asked about Hazard.
'Since Thursday, he has been fully involved with the first-team training. So he's available.
'We have to be careful because of the recent injuries. I'm not sure he can play a full 90 minutes yet.
'We have to see if it's better to start or come in.
'It depends on the game and the toughness and intensity of the game. We will decide on game day.'
Costa has been suffering from a bruised shin and has been unable to train fully since the 3-3 draw against Everton last weekend.
'He's not done much,' said Hiddink. 'He was in yesterday [Thursday] and today [Friday] and will be available.'
The Spain
international can expect a hostile reception from the Arsenal supporters
after his controversial role in their 2-0 defeat by Chelsea earlier
this season.
Arsenal
defender Gabriel saw red in the first-half of that clash at Stamford
Bridge after fracas with Costa while the latter remained on the pitch.
He did however, receive a three-match ban after a Football Association
charge of violent conduct was upheld following his earlier skirmish with
Laurent Koscielny.
And
when asked on his views about that match, Hiddink - who wasn't in
charge of the Blues then - refused to reflect on that explosive
encounter.
'I haven’t seen the images. It’s a new game. I don’t think we take much from the past.
'He
[Costa] has big worth for us, and his focus has to be on what he is
good at. He has done that but there are no guarantees because we are
dealing with human beings not machines.'
