Bailout: Benue Govt approves more funds for teachers, retirees in 22 LGs

Benue State Council Committee to fast-track the payment of bailout funds headed by Patricia Kupchi, Special Adviser on Employment and Labour matters met yesterday and has given approval for the release of funds to be paid to 22 Local Government Education Authority ( LGEAs) and six (6) Zonal offices of the State Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon.Titus Zam, who disclosed this in a statement, said beneficiaries include retirees, deceased, teachers, active teaching and non-teaching staff of the 22 local governments except Ohimini.
The statement also disclosed that those affected include 15 local governments, Agatu, Apa, Buruku, Gwer East, Katsina-Ala, Konshisha, Kwande, Makurdi, Obi, Ogbadibo, Oju, Otukpo, Tarka, Ushongo, and Vandeikya.
The statement reaffirmed that beneficiaries will include only those who were omitted from earlier payment for the months of January to April 2015 for primary school teachers while February to April 2015 for the staff of local governments in the state.
